These terms govern your use of the Green Roof Alerts portal ("the Portal"). By creating an account or using the Portal, you agree to these terms.

Plain English version: we want to help you look after your green roof. Here's what we expect from each other.

What we provide

The Portal delivers weather-based alerts for green roof management. We monitor conditions like temperature, rainfall, wind, and frost risk, then notify you when these might affect your roof or plants.

Your account

Creating an account

  • You must provide accurate information
  • You must be at least 16 years old
  • One person or organisation per account
  • You're responsible for keeping your login details secure

Account security

If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, please contact us immediately. You're responsible for all activity under your account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account with others
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Use automated tools to scrape or overload the Portal
  • Reverse engineer our systems
  • Use the Portal for any unlawful purpose

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Weather data and alerts

Data source

Weather data comes from OpenWeather API and is provided to us "as is." We pass this information to you in good faith but cannot guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness.

Alert limitations

Our alerts are generated automatically based on weather thresholds. They may not account for:

  • Microclimates specific to your roof
  • Your particular plant species' tolerances
  • Structural conditions of your building
  • Local variations not captured by weather stations

No guarantee

We do not guarantee that:

  • Alerts will always be delivered on time
  • Weather predictions will be accurate
  • Following or ignoring alerts will produce any particular outcome

Liability limitations

What we're not liable for

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Green Roof Revival Ltd is not liable for:

  • Roof damage — whether from weather, neglect, or any other cause
  • Plant health — including death, disease, or poor growth
  • Decisions you make — based on our alerts or lack thereof
  • Indirect losses — lost profits, reputation, or consequential damages
  • Third-party services — including OpenWeather API downtime or inaccuracies

Our total liability

If we are found liable for anything, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or £100, whichever is greater).

Your responsibilities

You remain responsible for:

  • Regular inspection and maintenance of your green roof
  • Seeking professional advice when needed
  • Making your own decisions about your property

Subscription and payment

Free tier

Basic features are free. We may change what's included in the free tier.

Paid features

If you subscribe to paid features:

  • Prices are shown before purchase
  • Payment is taken in advance
  • You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of your billing period
  • We don't offer refunds for partial periods

Changes to the service

We may:

  • Add or remove features
  • Change pricing (with notice for existing subscribers)
  • Modify these terms (we'll notify you of significant changes)

Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.

Termination

By you

You can delete your account anytime. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data after deletion.

By us

We may terminate or suspend your account if you:

  • Violate these terms
  • Don't use the Portal for 24 months
  • Engage in abusive behaviour toward our team

Intellectual property

The Portal, including its design, code, and content, belongs to Green Roof Revival Ltd. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute it without permission.

Your data remains yours. By using the Portal, you grant us permission to store and process it to provide the service.

Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of England and Wales.
